Here are a few blogs from other chums in 112 that took my fancy or gave me some kind of inspiration:

Although i came across this early on while we were still experimenting with the various aspects of blogger, Jordan's blog caught my eye in particular. The intensity behind his first project "word" was inspiring and gave me the notion to look further than simply on the surface of things.

2)Angela Taylor:

Angela's fluid form also interested me, although it was initially different from what i was concentrating on. I was impressed by the simplicity of her design and the proof that simple forms can often be a great deal more satisfying to the eye than complex ones.

3)Matt Woods:

As i was interested to compare another persons technique of the movie with mine, Matt's was a good example as it was very different. While basic it proved very effective and gave me some good ideas for the future.

1) Architectural Renovation - http://globalmoxie.com/blog/paris-metro-renovation.shtml

This blog gave an interesting description of the recent renovation of the underground metro tunnels in Paris. Whilst undergoing transformation there were discoveries made of retro design and typography and unique treasures which gave the underground character. I was impressed by the overall layout and structure of this blog.

The vibrancy of this page particularly captured my attention. Using green to reflect on the ecological theme, this blog demonstrated the ideas for the design of future architectural structures which exteriors would operate like natural organisms with natural light, fresh air and water.

3) Architecture Redefined - http://architecturer.blogspot.com/

Combined with the eye capturing photos posted, the descriptions of future architectural structures proved extremely inspirational. The prototype of a floating metropolis lilypad is predicted to be the saviour for us in years to come, where people will be able to live in peace and harmony.

"30 Second Film"

For the final project for Design 111, we were required to compose a 30 second film promoting a particular discipline related to design. This assignment tested our ability to not only research and present a discipline but also to work as a team, involving compromise and competent decision making. After careful thought, my partner and i decided to work with the architecture of Wellington as it was an aspect that neither of us had explored prior to this project. Together we concluded that the theme "Reserve the Old, Retain the New" would have the most scope for us to base our film around and therefore began an extensive amount of research into various buildings which had been moulded and changed over the years. Wishing to keep our ideas clear and simple we used a basic format of a series of still images of the well-known clock tower on Lampton Quay, portraying the change in time period by capturing the various light and weather depending on the time of day. With this and the symbolism of the clock itself we were able to produce an effective film, demonstrating the change in architecture within Wellington over the past century.
